The Dishwasher position at Waltonwood is an essential behind-the-scenes role that ensures the kitchen environment remains clean, safe, and sanitary at all times. The dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, pots, and other kitchen essentials through a combination of mechanical and manual cleaning methods. This position demands a hardworking and detail-oriented individual who is willing to contribute to the smooth operation of the culinary department by focused effort and effective sanitation practices. Besides dishwashing, this role includes sweeping and mopping kitchen floors and stockrooms as well as reporting any hazardous situations to supervisory staff. This job reports directly to the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director and is integral to providing a positive mealtime experience for residents.

- Working knowledge of dish cleaning practices and dining etiquette
- Knowledge of proper food service sanitation techniques
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred

Job Duties
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine
- Sort and stack clean dishes
- Carry clean dishes to cook's line or other proper storage areas
- Wash certain pots, pans, trays, dishes and utensils by hand with specified soap and water directed by the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director
- Sweep kitchen floors, ensure kitchen floor is sanitized and take trash out
- Mop stockrooms and report any hazardous situations in the kitchen to the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director
- Adhere to all sanitation and safety standards
- Assist with all other duties as assigned by the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director
