We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Dishwashers, offering both full-time and part-time employment opportunities. The position is pivotal to the smooth operation of our kitchen and restaurant areas. Dishwashers contribute significantly to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and organization that the Golden Owl Tavern upholds. As a Dishwasher at Golden Owl Tavern, you will work under general supervision to ensure sanitary conditions are maintained in the kitchen and dining areas. Responsibilities include collecting and preparing dirty dishware for washing, operating the dishwashing machinery efficiently, manually cleaning pots and pans that require special attention, and polishing silverware and other serving utensils. The role also involves maintaining the dishwashing equipment in good working order and keeping the dish room clean and organized. Through these tasks, you will directly contribute to the overall dining experience by supporting the kitchen and service teams.

Job Requirements
- must be able to see minute objects at arm's length to read meters and controls
- must be able to bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach and retrieve items from above head
- must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs
- must be able to travel up to 300 feet and stand regularly throughout shift
- must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively
- must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and pay attention to details in crowded and noisy situations
- must have the ability to handle china, glassware and fragile equipment with care to minimize breakage
Job Qualifications

- current experience working within a restaurant, hotel, or high-volume kitchen preferred
- must have 1+ years of recent experience within the hotel or restaurant industry
- able to work a flexible schedule
Job Duties
- gathers all dirty dishware from tubs brought to the dish room, rinses and stacks in dishracks, always clearing dishes of leftovers and trash
- loads full dishracks on belt and ensures correct placement in accordance with machine operation instructions
- operates automatic dish washing machine using controls as instructed
- loads dishwashing solutions into automatic dispensers and regulates the output of detergents and chemicals by monitoring and adjusting controls
- unloads clean dishes from racks after processing, inspects for cleanliness and stacks in specified carts and shelves
- manually scrubs pots, pans and other kitchen equipment using detergents, scourers and special solutions
- inspects for cleanliness, manually dries and puts away kitchen equipment
- manually polishes silver, stainless steel and pewter using standard polishing cloth and products
- maintains automatic dishwashing equipment in good condition to prolong equipment life and meet health compliance
- keeps dish room clean and orderly by sweeping, mopping, emptying trash and wiping counters
- mops kitchen floors and cleans work surfaces regularly
- gathers and empties trash cans into outside compactor
- sweeps loading dock and entrance areas to remove litter and debris
- performs other duties as assigned by management
