This full-time Dishwasher position is available at the Santa Catalina School located at 1500 Mark Thomas Drive, Monterey, CA. The role offers a fixed pay rate of $21.00 per hour and requires availability during days, evenings, and weekends, with exact schedules discussed during the interview process. The primary responsibility of the Dishwasher is to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, pots, pans, trays, utensils, kitchen equipment, and work areas. This position contributes significantly to the overall kitchen operation by ensuring all cleaning standards and safety procedures are consistently met.

The Dishwasher will be responsible for scraping, rinsing, washing, and sanitizing cookware and dining utensils, either manually or with dishwashing machines. They will also be tasked with polishing silverware, maintaining safety compliance, and managing sanitation of kitchen floors and work surfaces. Additional duties include trash removal, transferring supplies, and assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries. This role is vital to maintaining operational efficiency and hygiene standards within the kitchen environment.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior dishwashing or steward experience preferred
Ability to work full time including days, evenings, and weekends
Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for long periods
Ability to comply with company policies and procedures
Eligible to work in the United States

Job Duties

Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment
Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation
Washes pots, pans and trays based on assigned procedures
Polishes silver using burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel and hand cloth depending on assigned equipment and procedures
Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures
Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards
Keeps dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards
Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks and other food prep surfaces
Removes trash and places it in designated containers
Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
Helps load and unload supplies and product
Performs other duties as assigned
