Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach, bend and lift heavy objects
- Capability to lift and carry heavy objects typically 20-50 pounds
- Skill in handling dishes quickly and efficiently including scrubbing, loading and unloading
- Ability to move around in tight spaces involving bending, twisting and squatting
- Coordination for loading dishes, placing them into racks and putting them away
- Comfort working in hot, steamy environments due to dishwashing equipment and kitchen conditions
- Consistency in performing tasks efficiently and ensuring a steady supply of clean dishes
Job Qualifications
- Work experience as a dishwasher preferred but not required
- Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks as needed
- Time management skills
- Attention to detail and sanitation rules
- Availability to work in shifts, during weekends and evenings
- ServSafe food handlers certification required
- General understanding of basic food preparation tasks
- An eagerness to perform daily and to learn new skills to progress in a fine dining atmosphere
- Availability and willingness to open and close the restaurant regularly and meet and exceed expectations on open and close routines and tasks
Job Duties
- Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
- Load and unload dishwashing machines
- Wash specific items by hand such as wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china
- Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
- Set up workstations before meal prep begins
- Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils especially during peak hours
- Maintain cleaning supplies stock and place orders when necessary
- Check washing machines operation and promptly report any technical or performance issues
- Remove garbage regularly
- Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor
