The dishwasher also manages the sanitation aspects by changing water in machines and sinks on a fixed schedule aligned with business activity and using correct chemical dilutions to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.

In addition to cleaning duties, the dishwasher is responsible for maintaining floor cleanliness throughout their shift, managing trash and recycling duties, and organizing dry storage areas to uphold operational readiness. Completing daily posted cleaning tasks and supporting other kitchen staff with additional duties as needed are also part of this multifaceted role. Job Requirements

  • physical ability to stand for 10-12 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed
  • keeps dish area free of clutter and organized
  • sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks
  • maintains clean and dry floors throughout the shift
  • properly washes, stacks, and stores china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers
  • changes water of machines and sinks every two hours or more often as required, and properly uses chemical dilutions
  • maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans, boxes, and rinses garbage cans at the end of each shift
  • maintains the dry storage area and organization of storage shelves
  • follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties
  • assists other duties set forth or as needed
  • attends and satisfactorily completes all required training as assigned and required
