We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Dishwasher to join our team at Summerfield Senior Living of Gulfport. This full-time position operates with a starting pay rate of $11 per hour and requires flexibility in working any shifts, including weekends and holidays. The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the kitchen’s cleanliness and hygiene by washing, sorting, and storing dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware. This role also involves setting up dish stations, ensuring equipment is in working order, and assisting with maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Beyond dishwashing, the Dishwasher will assist with food prep and other tasks as requested by the chef and management team. The ideal candidate will be friendly, dependable, reliable, and attentive to sanitation standards to help uphold the community's high standards. This position contributes significantly to the smooth operation of the kitchen and overall resident satisfaction, making it an essential part of our team.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work any shift including weekends and holidays
Physical ability to stand for extended periods
Reliable transportation to and from work
Basic English communication skills
Willingness to adhere to all sanitation and cleaning procedures
Ability to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds

Basic knowledge of sanitation and safety standards in a kitchen environment
Able to lift and carry heavy items
Good organizational skills
Previous experience in a kitchen or similar environment preferred

Job Duties

Washes dishes, stacks, sorts, and stores dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware
Maintains a clean kitchen and keeps dish area organized and free of clutter
Sets up dish stations, including dishwashing machines and sinks
Maintains clean, dry floors throughout the shift
Cleans and sanitizes storage areas, including freezers and refrigerators
Assists in storing food deliveries
Monitors trash cans throughout shift, making sure to remove full trashcans and boxes as needed and at the end of each shift
Maintains the cleanliness of dry storage areas and the organization of storage shelves
Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef and other managers as needed
Follows sanitation and cleaning procedures
Ensures that dishwashers are in working order and reports problems as they arise
Assists with closing, including aiding in the sanitation of cooking and food preparation stations
