Job Requirements
- Temporary employment for up to 28 weeks
- Full-time, nonexempt position
- Ability to work seven days per week while onboard
- Ability to live and work on board a vessel for extended periods
- Ability to stand for entire shifts
- Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to frequently bend, squat, reach, and use stairs
- Ability to assist in emergency situations by climbing ladders and passing through hatches
Job Qualifications
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- American citizen or Green Card holder
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug testing including marijuana and other controlled substances
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work on a ship experiencing constant motion
- Adherence to grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
Job Duties
- Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the galley including cutlery, glassware, dishes, and surrounding areas
- Receive and carry food deliveries which require lifting boxes that weigh up to 50 lbs
- Ensure that the commercial dishwasher is operating properly and efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues to management
- Create genuine rapport with guests and cater to all galley requests efficiently
- Perform other functions such as greeting guests upon embarkation, assisting during special events including afternoon teas and evening entertainment
- Maintain compliance with shipboard safety and emergency procedures
