Job Description

Provider Contract Food Service is a well-established company with over 20 years of experience in the culinary and hospitality industry. Currently, we are expanding our Food Service Team at the Arizona Christian University location in Arizona with an opening for the position of Dishwasher. As a Dishwasher, you will play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of our kitchen, ensuring that all china, glassware, tableware, and cooking utensils are spotless and hygienic. This role employs both machine and manual cleaning methods, demanding high attention to detail and adherence to health and safety standards. Maintaining the dishwashing area as a clean, safe, and sanitary environment is a critical responsibility, directly contributing to the smooth operation of our food service activities.

In this role, you will be responsible for sorting, rinsing, and preparing dirty dishes, glasses, and utensils for cleaning in the dish machine, as well as hand-washing pots, pans, and trays. Regularly changing the dishwater in the machine to maintain hygiene levels, managing waste disposal, and ensuring kitchen floors and exterior areas are clean and safe are also key duties. The dishwasher must follow strict hygiene practices, including washing hands before handling clean dishes after dealing with dirty ones, and must promptly notify management about any operational issues with cleaning equipment.

This position demands physical stamina, as the dishwasher will regularly stand, walk, lift and move objects up to 40 pounds, and perform various motions such as stooping, kneeling, and reaching. The role requires a reliable individual capable of thoroughness, time management, effective communication, and a strong focus on customer service. Job Duties

  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, and tableware and place them in racks for the dish machine
  • Sort and stack clean dishes
  • carry clean dishes to cooking line and storage areas
  • Rewash soiled dishes before delivery
  • Change dishwater in the dish machine every hour
  • Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand
  • Remove trash and garbage to the dumpster
  • Set up or break down dishwashing area
  • Clean and roll/unroll mats
  • Fill or empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Sweep up trash around the exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster
  • Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
  • Notify manager if dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
  • Follow hygiene protocols including washing hands before touching clean dishes after dirty dishes
  • Perform other duties as directed
