Job Description

Outback Steakhouse, operated by the Out West Restaurant Group, is a well-established Australian-themed restaurant franchise known for its commitment to quality food, heartfelt hospitality, and creating a memorable dining experience for every guest. Launched in 1988, Outback Steakhouse has grown into one of the most recognized dining destinations, celebrated for delivering exceptional food infused with fun and an inviting atmosphere. The Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse and has been honored with the International Franchise Association’s Franchisee of the Year Award in 2022 for Exemplifying Excellence in Local Community Service. This recognition reflects the organization's dedication not only to outstanding customer service but also to positively impacting the communities it serves.

At Outback Steakhouse, the corporate culture hinges on the principle of treating people 'Just Right,' a philosophy that fosters respect, teamwork, and personal growth among their employees, who they proudly refer to as "Outbackers." They believe that when employees are supported and valued, this attitude naturally extends to guests, creating a welcoming environment akin to hosting friends and family in one’s own home. The company emphasizes comprehensive training and professional development, ensuring that each team member is equipped to excel in their role and contribute meaningfully to the brand’s success.

The position of Dishwasher at Outback Steakhouse is an essential back-of-house role critical to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and organization that the restaurant is known for. This role involves responsibility for washing dishes and small wares, managing trash disposal, and handling linen bag removal to keep the kitchen and dining area running smoothly. Dishwashers at Outback Steakhouse uphold food safety and sanitation standards by ensuring that all washed items meet state-specified rinse and wash temperature criteria. This attention to detail not only guarantees guests receive their meals on perfectly clean plates and silverware but also helps maintain compliance with health regulations.

Beyond cleaning duties, the Dishwasher supports the kitchen’s operational flow by restocking supplies on the cook line as necessary and contributing to general cleaning efforts throughout the restaurant. The role demands a good understanding of the dishwashing machine operation, including knowledge of chemical components and procedures for changing water and chemicals. Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes hot or cold environment are important attributes for this role.

Outback Steakhouse offers a supportive work environment where teamwork is valued, and employees are empowered to grow within the company. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and meal compensations once eligible. The company also values work-life balance, closing on Thanksgiving and Christmas to allow employees to spend time with their loved ones. New employees receive a paid day off after just 90 days of employment, reflecting the company’s commitment to employee well-being and satisfaction.

Overall, working as a Dishwasher at Outback Steakhouse means joining a family-oriented franchise committed to providing an enjoyable work experience and career opportunities within a thriving, community-focused restaurant brand. If you are looking for a role with purpose, camaraderie, and career potential, Outback Steakhouse offers a promising place to start or advance your journey in hospitality.
