As a well-established retirement community, Wesley Palms specializes in offering a range of dining, recreational, and healthcare services tailored to meet the unique needs of its residents. The community is driven by values that prioritize respect, dignity, and quality of life, striving to create an atmosphere that feels like home for every individual it serves.
The Dishwasher position at Wesley Palms Retirement Community is a full-time role with working days from Wednesday to Sunday, starting at 11:00 a.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m., with Mondays and Tuesdays off. The pay range for this position is between $18.50 and $20.50 per hour, reflecting the community's commitment to fair compensation. This role is integral to the smooth and efficient operation of the dining services department, reporting directly to the Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef. The primary responsibility is to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by washing dishes, pots, pans, and all cooking equipment. This function is vital to ensuring that the food service area remains sanitary, organized, and fully stocked with clean tableware to support the dining needs of both residents and staff.
In this role, the dishwasher will work diligently in a high-paced environment where attention to detail, efficiency, and adherence to health and safety codes are crucial. Beyond dishwashing, the position involves maintaining the dish room's cleanliness, monitoring the dish machine’s operational status, handling trash disposal, and replenishing cleaning supplies. The dishwasher also assists in sustaining a safe work environment by following established food safety guidelines, using safety equipment appropriately, and reporting hazards. The role demands working long periods in standing positions within hot, humid, and noisy settings, requiring physical stamina.
At Wesley Palms, teamwork and customer service are highly valued. The dishwasher will support the team by filling in various capacities as needed, ensuring that the kitchen operates seamlessly at all times. Furthermore, employees participate in mandatory training sessions for safety, emergency preparedness, and departmental policies, helping maintain the community’s high standards. Wesley Palms embraces diversity and equal opportunity employment, requiring final candidates to complete pre-employment physicals, drug screenings, and criminal background checks to maintain a safe workplace. This dishwasher position not only offers a competitive wage but also an opportunity to be part of a caring community focused on enhancing the lives of seniors through dedicated service and teamwork.
