The Dishwasher at The Lafayette plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. This position involves a variety of duties, including washing dishes, pots, and kitchen equipment, as well as performing general cleaning and storage tasks. The Dishwasher ensures that all food handling, storage, and cleaning procedures comply with federal, state, and local regulations, alongside the company’s own sanitary standards. This role also encompasses janitorial responsibilities within various dining areas such as the Dining Room and Bistro, contributing to a clean and inviting atmosphere for guests.

In this capacity, the Dishwasher will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of the dish and pot washing stations, operating dishwashing machinery efficiently and safely, and sanitizing all kitchenware including dishes, silverware, glassware, and cookware. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all items are cleaned to the highest standard and that food storage areas are orderly with proper rotation of supplies. Additionally, the Dishwasher will handle cleaning of large and small production equipment like stoves, ovens, fryers, and mixers to maintain operational readiness and hygiene.

Job Duties

  • Set up and maintain dish and pot washing areas
  • operate dish machine(s) according to food safety standards
  • wash and sanitize dishes, china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware
  • set up and maintain pot and pan sink areas
  • clean large and small production equipment including stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, work tables, prep sinks, hoods, and ventilation screens
  • perform janitorial duties in dining areas such as the Dining Room and Bistro
