Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to physically handle knives, pots and other kitchen items
- Proper usage of kitchen machinery including dishwasher and other equipment
- Ability to stand 100 percent of the time
- Regular exposure to cold and heat environments
- Ability to exert well-paced physical activity in confined space
- Capability to bend, stoop, squat regularly
- Ability to push and pull carts and equipment up to 250 pounds occasionally
Job Qualifications
- Ability to handle kitchen machinery and equipment properly
- Knowledge of safe and sanitary procedures
- Physical ability to stand for long periods
- Capability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds regularly
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Willingness to follow directions and safety protocols
Job Duties
- Properly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, glassware, utensils and pots
- Maintains organization and cleanliness of dish room and dish machine
- Assists with cleaning other areas of the restaurant
- Operates dish machines and pot sinks according to specifications
- Uses proper measurements of detergent and sanitizer
- Ensures dish machines and pot sinks comply with sanitation codes
- Sweeps and mops floors
- Restocks dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans
- Removes all garbage and recyclables
- Breaks down, cleans and sanitizes dish machine and pot sinks at shift end
- Keeps dish and storage areas clean and organized
- Utilizes safe and sanitary procedures
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested by Chef, Management or Sous Chef
