The hiring establishment for this position is a casino environment where maintaining cleanliness and organization is paramount to delivering an exceptional guest experience. The role being offered is that of a Steward, a crucial support position within the casino's food and beverage division. This role is responsible for maintaining the highest level of cleanliness for dining and cooking utensils as well as keeping the kitchen and related areas orderly. The Steward position pays $16.00 an hour and demands a friendly, upbeat, and positive attitude to foster a cooperative and efficient work environment. Stewards handle multiple tasks, including washing dishware, utensils, pots and pans, and ensuring these items are returned to proper places to maintain required supply levels in the dining area. This helps facilitate smooth kitchen operations and ensures prompt service. Additionally, the Steward must manage trash disposal, including emptying trash cans, replacing liners, and transporting trash to the dumpster while operating equipment like a cardboard compressor.

Stewards also have the responsibility of maintaining the cooking line free from debris throughout each shift, completing closing checklists in a timely manner, and adhering strictly to internal controls, policies, standards, and procedures. This position requires understanding and meeting performance expectations consistently. It is essential that Stewards possess basic skills such as reading and comprehending caution labels, warning signs, and instructions as safety is a critical aspect of the role. Being a team player is vital, along with demonstrating integrity and professionalism in a regulated business environment like a casino.

Physically, the role demands the ability to work independently while managing prolonged periods of sitting or standing (minimum of four hours), frequent movement through all areas of the casino, including stairways and escalators, and lifting or carrying loads of at least 40 pounds. The Steward should also have the physical agility to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, grab objects, and operate necessary office or kitchen equipment. Flexibility is necessary to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Job Duties
