Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and food safety standards
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- A current COVID-19 vaccine is preferred
- Must possess the physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform a wide range of physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, turning, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, reaching overhead, pushing/pulling, and grasping with both hands
Job Qualifications
- One or more years of serving experience preferred
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting preferred
- Experience in a long-term care environment is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Excellent time management, organization, and customer service skills
- A heartfelt passion for making a positive difference in the lives of older adults within a supportive CCRC community
Job Duties
- Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, food carts, and food preparation equipment
- Maintain a steady supply of clean dishware, utensils, and glassware for dining areas and table settings
- Ensure pots, pans, and cooking/serving utensils are clean and ready for use by kitchen staff
- Clean work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
- Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices rigorously
- Assist with general kitchen cleaning, including walls, floors, and trash removal
- Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude at all times
- Attend in-service training sessions and staff meetings as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
