Job Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old
Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and food safety standards
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
A current COVID-19 vaccine is preferred
Must possess the physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform a wide range of physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, turning, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, reaching overhead, pushing/pulling, and grasping with both hands

Job Qualifications

One or more years of serving experience preferred
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting preferred
Experience in a long-term care environment is a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Excellent time management, organization, and customer service skills
A heartfelt passion for making a positive difference in the lives of older adults within a supportive CCRC community

Job Duties

Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, food carts, and food preparation equipment
Maintain a steady supply of clean dishware, utensils, and glassware for dining areas and table settings
Ensure pots, pans, and cooking/serving utensils are clean and ready for use by kitchen staff
Clean work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices rigorously
Assist with general kitchen cleaning, including walls, floors, and trash removal
Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude at all times
Attend in-service training sessions and staff meetings as required
Perform other duties as assigned
