Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to reach overhead and below knees including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work long hours
  • Ability to follow health and safety procedures
  • Effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • Care and cleaning of kitchen equipment, dish room and pot washing areas
  • Operate and maintain dish room equipment according to sanitary standards
  • Clean up spills in the kitchen, dining area, and work area immediately
  • Wash pots, pans, trays and other cooking and serving equipment
  • May wash and peel vegetables and fruits
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned
  • Maintain and refresh restrooms
  • Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or with a hand truck
  • Remove trash, separate into designated containers, and maintain clean floors in kitchen and dining area
  • Steam cleanse and scrub out trash and garbage cans
  • Complete shift work in timely thorough manner
  • Inform chef and manager when supplies are low
  • Assist other functions as needed
  • Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures following HACCP standards
  • Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils within work area
  • Handle and ensure deliveries are properly stored according to health regulations
  • Represent company in courteous, efficient, and friendly manner
  • Greet customers courteously
  • Relay relevant comments from customers to supervisors
  • Interact with customers and resolve complaints in friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
