Job Requirements

Less than high school education
Up to 1 month related experience or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Successful completion of pre-employment physical
Successful completion of physical abilities test
Successful completion of drug screen
Department of Justice criminal background clearance

Job Qualifications

Ability to provide quality customer service
Ability to operate dish washing equipment
Knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness standards
Ability to maintain a safe work environment
Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Willingness to attend mandatory in-service meetings and comply with policies

Job Duties

Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors
Load, run and unload the dish machine
Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware
Keep dish room clean and organized
Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designated times
Safely lift bags, cases and stacks
Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
Clean food preparation and production areas as required
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen as directed by the immediate supervisor
Work in a standing position and hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time
Follow highest standards of cleanliness and all federal, state and corporate food safety policies and guidelines
Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner
Wear safety equipment as required
Report any safety hazards or accidents to supervisor
Follow department safety standards and participate in campus-wide safety programs
Attend all mandatory in-service meetings
Comply with all department and facilities policies and procedures
Understand facility's fire and disaster plans and follow procedures during drills and emergencies
