Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in kitchen steward or related cleaning role preferred
  • Current Food Handler Card
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift 100 lbs and perform manual tasks
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Commitment to adhering to safety and security procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • Knowledge of maintaining service ware to complement guest experience
  • Ability to operate commercial kitchen dishwash machine according to standards
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
  • Ability to follow safety and emergency procedures
  • Strong physical dexterity and stamina to perform manual tasks
  • Ability to work flexible shifts in a 24/7 hotel environment

Job Duties

  • Promptly and carefully sort soiled ware for proper dishwashing
  • Quickly wash all ware and replace in designated storage areas
  • Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards
  • Clean kettles, tilt skillets, pots and pans promptly for cooks
  • Perform general routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
  • Clean and dry floors to prevent slip and fall accidents
  • Separate linen from other debris
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Follow safety and security procedures and rules
  • Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • Utilize protective equipment
  • Report unsafe conditions and accidents to management
  • Provide a safe work environment
  • Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Assist other kitchen personnel when needed
  • Perform related duties as requested by management
