At its core, Sodexo values every employee, promoting an inclusive culture where individuals are treated fairly, respectfully, and encouraged to express their authentic selves. This dedication to employee engagement and community impact makes Sodexo not just a company, but a place where you can grow your career and contribute to positive change.
The Dishroom Lead position at Sodexo, located at Central Oregon Community College, offers a dynamic full-time opportunity with a competitive pay range of $19.00 to $20.00 per hour. The role requires open availability to work any shift, allowing for a flexible schedule that supports a balance between work and personal life. As a Dishroom Lead, you will play a critical leadership role within the food service team, acting as a unifier and problem solver who ensures efficient kitchen operations and a clean, safe working environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and cleanliness of kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils, ensuring all health and safety standards are met. Your leadership will guide the dishroom team by providing direction, support, and motivation, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that emphasizes teamwork and accountability. You will manage the timely washing of dishes, pots, and silverware, either manually or using machinery, alongside tasks such as sweeping, mopping, waste disposal, and sanitizing all food preparation surfaces.
The Dishroom Lead serves as a senior team member, taking charge during shifts and addressing any operational challenges that arise. Your ability to transfer supplies and equipment efficiently between storage and work areas will streamline kitchen processes and support overall service quality. Punctuality and reliability are crucial, as consistent attendance ensures smooth shifts and maintains high standards of service.
Sodexo’s commitment extends beyond the job itself, offering a supportive work environment with access to ongoing training and career development programs. Employees benefit from a comprehensive package including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) plans, employee discount programs, and, depending on the location, additional site-specific perks such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, and parking or public transportation assistance.
Working as a Dishroom Lead at Sodexo means joining an organization dedicated to creating a better everyday for all. You will be part of a team that values your ideas and contributions, fosters a culture of belonging, and strives for excellence in everything it does. This role not only allows you to build your leadership skills in a fast-paced environment but also supports your growth through resources and opportunities that turn a job into a meaningful career. Sodexo encourages all qualified candidates to apply and is committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, disability, or any other protected status.
