Job Description

The New! Residence Inn Claremont is set to make its grand opening in Spring 2026, and it’s currently seeking a dynamic and strategic Opening Director of Sales to lead the hotel’s sales efforts from inception through to established success. This newly launched hotel, part of the renowned Residence Inn brand, provides extended-stay accommodations and amenities tailored for both business and leisure travelers. Residence Inn’s reputation for comfort, community, and convenience makes it a preferred choice for guests seeking a home-away-from-home experience. The Claremont location aims to uphold and elevate these values with a focus on outstanding guest service and operational excellence to maximize both guest satisfaction and hotel profitability.

This leadership role is pivotal to the hotel’s market success and operational growth. The Opening Director of Sales, also known as the Sales Captain, will spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive sales and marketing strategies designed to attract new business, maintain and grow existing accounts, and maximize overall revenue opportunities. The role demands a proactive and results-oriented professional capable of inspiring and leading a sales team through the critical startup phase, further driving long-term revenue and client relationship success post-opening.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the Corporate Director of Sales, the Opening Director of Sales will be intricately involved in shaping the hotel’s sales culture, strategies, and revenue goals. This includes hands-on participation in the sales processes related to the hotel’s opening, reflecting the brand’s mission to Soar to Success by delivering impactful, results-driven sales leadership that translates into both guest and owner satisfaction. The Opening Director of Sales will manage relationships with corporate clients, group bookings, travel partners, and community stakeholders to ensure the hotel’s presence and relevance in the market.

In addition to cultivating key business partnerships, this role encompasses responsibilities around strategic revenue management, including collaboration with revenue management teams to optimize pricing and inventory control, evaluating market trends, and leveraging competitive intelligence to identify and capture growth opportunities. Oversight of group room and event sales will also be essential to balancing profitability with guest experience excellence, ensuring that every event hosted matches the hotel’s high standards.

This full-time position requires travel and a flexible schedule to meet the demands of client interaction, networking events, trade shows, and community engagement activities. The successful candidate will possess notable leadership and communication skills, a strong sales acumen, and expertise in sales systems including Marriott tools and Delphi. A professional demeanor aligned with the Hotel’s brand standards is essential to represent the hotel effectively in all external engagements.

The Residence Inn Claremont is dedicated to providing an environment where strong leadership and innovation in sales contribute directly to the hotel’s commercial success and enduring market presence. This opportunity offers an exciting chance to lead a new hotel from early development to thriving operation, making a direct impact on its growth trajectory and reputation. If you have a passion for sales leadership in the hospitality industry and are motivated by achieving breakthrough results, this role is an ideal fit.
