Job Description
Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Houston Conroe Near The Woodlands is part of Marriott International, a leading global hospitality company known for delivering exceptional guest experiences across its portfolio of brands. This establishment is a select-service hotel that caters to both leisure and business travelers, offering quality accommodations, outstanding customer service, and modern amenities in the Conroe, TX area. Marriott's commitment to excellence and innovation in the hospitality industry has made it a trusted name worldwide, providing employees with robust growth opportunities within a supportive and dynamic environment.
The Director of Sales at Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Houston Conroe Near The Woodlands plays a critical leadership role in driving revenue growth and market share in a competitive market. This full-time, on-property position reports directly to the General Manager and ownership, demanding a strategic yet hands-on approach to hotel sales. The successful candidate will be passionate about fostering relationships and expanding the hotel's presence in corporate, leisure, and group segments. This role is key to positioning the hotel as a preferred choice among travelers and businesses within Conroe, The Woodlands, and the greater North Houston area.
The Director of Sales will develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aimed at achieving revenue, occupancy, and average daily rate (ADR) goals. This includes proactive business development through sales calls, prospecting, networking, and community engagement. The role requires maintaining and growing local corporate accounts, negotiated contracts, and group business, as well as analyzing market trends and competitor activities to seize new opportunities. Collaboration is essential, with close partnerships alongside Revenue Management, Operations, and Ownership to ensure alignment of sales initiatives with overall hotel objectives.
This position also involves preparing and presenting detailed sales reports, forecasts, and actionable plans on a weekly and monthly basis, while representing the hotel at various local business events, trade shows, and hospitality industry functions. Upholding Marriott brand standards and compliance in systems and reporting is mandatory. The role demands a visible market presence, acting as the hotel's ambassador to the wider business community.
Ideal candidates will have at least 3 to 5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably holding Director of Sales or Senior Sales Manager roles within select-service or limited-service hotels, with Marriott experience strongly favored. Proven success in driving revenue and penetrating local markets, along with comprehensive knowledge of that local business environment, is crucial. The Director of Sales must possess excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills while being self-motivated and organized enough to work independently. Familiarity with hotel sales software such as Delphi, MARSHA, CI/TY, or equivalents will be advantageous.
With a competitive base salary complemented by performance-based bonuses, this role offers significant professional growth and the chance to impact hotel performance directly. Supported by a collaborative leadership and ownership team, the position promises a results-focused and rewarding work atmosphere for a driven sales leader passionate about turning strategies into tangible revenue.
