Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its diverse portfolio of brands that cater to varied customer needs and preferences. With a commitment to quality, innovation, and guest satisfaction, Marriott International operates numerous hotels and resorts worldwide, including the prestigious W Hotels brand, which is celebrated for redefining luxury and delivering unique, immersive experiences. Located at 225 River St, Hoboken, New Jersey, the property is part of this esteemed family, offering a dynamic environment characterized by a vibrant culture and a dedication to excellence in service.
The Full-Time Management position at this location offers a competitive annual salary range of $151,000 to $216,300 and includes bonus eligibility. This role is integral to the sales and marketing department, specifically designed for properties with bookings exceeding 300 peak rooms and substantial local catering revenue. As a Sales Manager, you will lead the property's sales efforts by managing both reactive and proactive strategies, ensuring the achievement of booking goals and overall revenue targets. Your leadership will extend to daily guidance of the sales team, cultivating an atmosphere where proactive engagement with customers is a priority, and long-term, value-based relationships are built. This position demands a strategic focus on integrating brand initiatives and service strategies throughout the sales process, positioning the property competitively across multiple sales channels.
In this role, you will also oversee the marketing budget, developing campaigns and promotions that align with property objectives and magnify brand presence locally and regionally. Your efforts will contribute to Marriott’s overarching aims of delivering exceptional products and services that resonate with target customers while driving returns for owners and stakeholders. Collaboration with regional marketing communications and other internal departments is key to the seamless execution of promotional strategies. This leadership position not only emphasizes sales performance but also community engagement, representing the brand at local, regional, and national events to enhance public relations and brand awareness.
Ideal candidates will possess a strong educational background—either a minimum two-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field, accompanied by relevant professional experience or a four-year degree with commensurate experience. Experience in lodging sales and proven supervisory skills are highly preferred. The role requires a keen understanding of market dynamics, guest needs, and competitor strategies, paired with the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team. As part of Marriott International, you will contribute to a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, fostering an environment where unique talents and backgrounds are celebrated. This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking company that prioritizes career development, well-being, and a supportive work environment.
