Job Requirements
- Four-year college degree required
- Previous sales experience in a comparable hotel size and scope
- Public relations and community marketing experience
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Delphi and Access
- Ability to travel locally
- Flexible work schedule including holidays and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Capacity to sit extended periods and use keyboard
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to sustainability practices
Job Qualifications
- Four-year college degree required
- Advanced coursework in business administration, marketing or communications a plus
- Previous sales experience in comparable hotel size and scope required
- Operations experience preferred
- Public relations and community marketing experience required
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Delphi and Access database tools
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Leadership and team development skills
Job Duties
- Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates ensuring they perform according to brand and hotel standards
- Develop strategic sales plans using internal and external data to incorporate all business segments
- Understand sales and business processes to support corporate and hotel goals and enhance customer value
- Identify customer requirements and craft tailored offers to increase hotel revenue share
- Monitor sales team performance and take corrective action to meet annual marketing plan objectives
- Achieve agreed-upon annual hotel revenue goals
- Maintain relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and revenue
- Use professional sales techniques to negotiate optimal terms and conditions
- Prepare and maintain an annual marketing plan with specific measurable initiatives
- Lead by example demonstrating effective selling techniques, development of others and commitment to industry and personal growth
- Develop and deliver effective oral and written presentations
- Travel locally to conduct outside sales calls, promote the hotel, and analyze competition
- Follow sustainability guidelines related to Marriott's EarthView program
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
