The role of Director of Rooms at Mandarin Oriental, Boston is a vital leadership position within the Hotel Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Hotel Manager. This full-time leadership role commands a competitive annual salary range of $110,000 to $120,000 and focuses on driving excellence within the Front Office and Housekeeping departments. The Director of Rooms ensures operational efficiency, profitability, and compliance with the highest quality standards by managing and developing the Front Office Manager and Executive Housekeeper. This role involves an array of responsibilities, including overseeing the performance and development of rooms division teams, financial planning for the division, and acting as the Manager on Duty when required. They also handle recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to build and maintain a motivated and high-performing team. Additionally, this position requires a strong focus on guest relations, ensuring that VIPs and repeat guests receive personalized, impeccable service.

Expertise in luxury hospitality is highly valued, alongside excellent management, leadership, organizational, and financial skills. Job Duties

  • Support company’s culture through the use of MOHG’s Vision, Mission, Values, and Legendary Quality Experiences
  • operate the Front Office and Housekeeping departments properly, efficiently and with profitability
  • plan, monitor, and meet all financial and qualitative objectives for the Rooms Division
  • act as Manager on Duty
  • own and elevate service quality metrics of the Front Office and Housekeeping
  • ensure exceptional level of service for all guests
  • maximize room revenue and occupancy by controlling rates and availability
  • create and strategize duties and responsibilities of Front Office colleagues
  • assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and terminating Rooms Division colleagues
  • provide training, coaching, and counselling to direct reports
  • personally welcome VIP and repeat guests
  • ensure FLHSS standards adherence
  • coordinate teamwork with other departments
  • handle guest and internal complaints and inquiries
  • perform any other duties as required by management
