The role of Director of Rooms at Mandarin Oriental, Boston is a vital leadership position within the Hotel Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Hotel Manager. This full-time leadership role commands a competitive annual salary range of $110,000 to $120,000 and focuses on driving excellence within the Front Office and Housekeeping departments. The Director of Rooms ensures operational efficiency, profitability, and compliance with the highest quality standards by managing and developing the Front Office Manager and Executive Housekeeper. The position demands an individual committed to fostering the company’s culture based on its Vision, Mission, and Values, while delivering legendary quality experiences that ensure guest satisfaction and operational success.

This role involves an array of responsibilities, including overseeing the performance and development of rooms division teams, financial planning for the division, and acting as the Manager on Duty when required. The Director of Rooms actively contributes to maximizing room revenue and occupancy by controlling rates and availability strategically. They also handle recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to build and maintain a motivated and high-performing team. Additionally, this position requires a strong focus on guest relations, ensuring that VIPs and repeat guests receive personalized, impeccable service.

Expertise in luxury hospitality is highly valued, alongside excellent management, leadership, organizational, and financial skills. The ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment, manage multiple priorities, and maintain outstanding communication abilities is essential. Candidates should be proficient in English and have the physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods. A flexible schedule is required to meet the diverse needs of the hotel. Preferred qualifications include a college degree in Hospitality Management or a related field and multilingual abilities.
