Job Description
Mainsail Lodging & Development is a reputable hospitality company known for its commitment to excellence in hotel management and operations. As a prominent player in the lodging industry, Mainsail prides itself on fostering a culture that values professionalism, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence. The company operates a portfolio of hotels, including affiliations with prestigious brands such as Marriott's Autograph Collection, which emphasizes luxury and elevated guest experiences.
Located in Fort Myers, Florida, Mainsail's properties are guided by core values and operational standards designed to deliver exceptional guest service while maintaining financial performance metrics that satisfy owners and investors. The property under consideration is closely aligned with Marriott International's brand standards, demonstrating Mainsail's dedication to high operational compliance and guest satisfaction levels.
The Director of Rooms Operations role at Mainsail Lodging & Development is a senior leadership position that requires a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on management within the Rooms Division. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all rooms-related functions, including housekeeping, front desk, guest services, and preventive maintenance of guest rooms and public spaces.
This position demands a professional who is enthusiastic, energetic, and fun yet takes their responsibilities seriously. The Director must maintain Marriott brand standards and uphold the service culture that defines the Autograph Collection. Given the premium brand affiliation, candidates with direct experience working within Marriott environments or equivalent luxury lifestyle brands are strongly preferred.
Key responsibilities include championing guest satisfaction efforts by ensuring consistent feedback monitoring and operational adjustments, overseeing the procurement function to manage budget adherence, maintaining inspection standards for cleanliness and condition, and ensuring compliance with property loss prevention and safety procedures. The Director also manages staffing schedules aligned with business forecasts and compliance with payroll budgets, ensuring operational productivity.
Additionally, the Director serves as a senior point of contact for escalated guest issues and is involved in management on duty (MOD) coverage as needed. A critical aspect of the role is fostering open communication across teams and departments to promote a collaborative working environment. The Director also plays a vital role in hotel performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses, and maximizing return on investment for stakeholders.
This full-time exempt role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and operational excellence. The company provides comprehensive benefits for full-time associates, including medical, dental, vision, 401K retirement plans, paid time off, and career development opportunities, reflecting its investment in employee well-being and professional growth.
Mainsail Lodging & Development is an equal opportunity employer, fostering diversity and inclusion within its workforce and ensuring a respectful and supportive workplace for all employees. This role is essential in maintaining the premium guest experience expected from an Autograph Collection property and contributes significantly to the hotel's ongoing success and reputation in the competitive hospitality market.
