Job Description

This job opening is for a key position within a hotel operations team, offering a salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year. The organization is part of a hospitality group committed to excellence, sustainability, and guest satisfaction, rooted in core values such as People Are Our Capability, Hearts That Serve, Only Excellence, Stay Nimble, and Own It. These principles drive the company culture and the way the business operates, focusing on creating exceptional experiences for guests while fostering a positive and supportive work environment for associates. The company emphasizes environmental responsibility through initiatives like the EarthView program, promoting sustainable practices within its hotels.

The role primarily involves supervising and managing various hotel departments to ensure smooth hotel operations and uphold high service standards. It presents an excellent career path for those interested in ascending within the hospitality industry, moving from this position to General Manager, Area General Manager, and potentially Regional Director of Operations. This career trajectory highlights the importance of this role as foundational for leadership development within the company.

In this role, you will be deeply involved in the day-to-day management of hotel activities, including assisting in financial planning, budgeting, and revenue optimization. You will work closely with the General Manager to prepare forecasts and reports, implement budgets, and manage expenses, ensuring the hotel maintains operational efficiency while delivering high-quality service. Supervising associates is a critical aspect, requiring skills in interviewing, training, scheduling, coaching, and supporting employees to help them meet brand standards and align with the company's core values. Strong leadership and communication abilities are essential to motivate staff and drive performance.

Guest satisfaction is a crucial focus of the position. You will monitor guest feedback and satisfaction scores, working proactively to improve service quality and address issues. Handling customer complaints effectively and anticipating potential operational challenges are vital responsibilities, demanding a proactive and problem-solving mindset. You will also coordinate with various departments such as accounting and sales, ensuring accurate financial management, payroll processing, and the implementation of sales strategies to boost occupancy and revenue.

Moreover, this position requires oversight of property accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, bank audits, petty cash, and tax compliance. You will be expected to coordinate with the corporate accounting department and ensure all internal audit standards are met. Additionally, maintaining front office systems and equipment ensures seamless guest check-in and administrative processes.

Safety and sustainability are prioritized, with expectations to participate in the hotel’s safety committee, practice safe work habits, use protective equipment, and comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. Adherence to the EarthView sustainability program underlines the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The breadth of this role means you'll need to be adaptive and ready to undertake varied tasks as assigned by management, requiring a flexible and dedicated work ethic.

This position's work environment is dynamic, with variable schedules that may include holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts. Physical demands include standing for long periods, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, along with activities like bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
