As an established company in the aviation sector, FJC Charter emphasizes safety, compliance, and operational excellence, serving a diverse clientele with reliable and efficient air transportation solutions. The company prides itself on maintaining rigorous standards that meet federal aviation safety regulations, ensuring professional and top-tier services for all flight operations and charter clients.
The Director of Operations role at FJC Charter is a critical leadership position, entrusted with overall authority and accountability for the structure and operation of the company’s FAR Part 135 operations. This position requires an individual who not only understands the technicalities of flight operations but also possesses strong management and business acumen. Operating primarily from the office and also functioning as a pilot, the Director of Operations serves as the accountable manager responsible for the allocation of company resources and ensuring all flight operations conform to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director supervises essential personnel, including the Chief Pilot, and oversees all aircraft registered under the FJC Charter certificate. Key responsibilities involve developing and implementing robust policies, procedures, and operational processes that guarantee the safety and regulatory compliance of flight operations. This role demands continuous coordination with external agencies such as the FAA and third-party auditors, ensuring all necessary documentation, reporting, and compliance measures are accurately maintained and executed.
The Director of Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of FJC Charter by closely aligning flight operations with business goals. This includes managing flight scheduling, duty time records, and aircraft maintenance coordination alongside the Director of Maintenance. The individual must possess a deep understanding of FAA regulations, particularly CFR Part 119.71, and hold a current Airline Transport Pilot Certificate alongside a valid Second-Class Medical Certificate.
This leadership position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to inspire and lead a team within a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate substantial business acumen, excellent organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and strategic planning. They must be adept at handling confidential information with discretion, providing exemplary customer service, and fostering a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.
FJC Charter offers a comprehensive benefits package to support its employees, including a matching 401(k) program, paid time off, and medical, dental, and vision coverage. This role is ideal for experienced aviation professionals with proven expertise in FAR Part 135 operations seeking a dynamic opportunity to lead and grow within a reputable aviation company.
