Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in maritime, law, public administration or related field
- Minimum five years of relevant professional experience or a combination of education and experience totaling eight years
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including government officials, industry leaders, and environmental groups
- Strong knowledge of maritime safety and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel less than 10% for maritime site visits and industry events
- Physical capability to participate in maritime industry activities

Job Duties
- Serve as primary liaison between the Board and stakeholders including state-licensed pilots and industry representatives
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the Maritime Pilots Board
- Implement policies to ensure safety and efficiency in maritime shipping operations
- Manage the Board’s budget and oversee contract administration
- Foster a culture of equity, inclusion, and compliance within the maritime community
- Engage with public, legislative, and regulatory entities on relevant matters
- Lead and coordinate multifaceted maritime projects ensuring successful outcomes
