Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- At least five years of professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling eight years
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Expertise in maritime safety and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to engage with public and legislative stakeholders
- Physical capability to travel and participate in maritime events
- Less than 10 percent travel availability
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in maritime studies, public administration, law, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in maritime regulation, safety, or a related domain
- Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities
- Strong knowledge of maritime safety standards and regulatory compliance
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with government agencies and legislative bodies
- Proven ability to manage budgets and contracts
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Maritime Pilots Board and stakeholders including licensed pilots, the shipping industry, environmental groups, and regulatory bodies
- Provide strategic guidance and policy recommendations to the Board
- Oversee budget management and financial planning for maritime pilotage operations
- Manage contracts and agreements related to pilotage services
- Promote and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Foster a culture of equity, inclusion, and diversity within the Board and associated activities
- Lead and coordinate multifaceted projects aimed at improving maritime operations and governance
