The Director of Food & Beverage position at Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak is a senior leadership role designed for an experienced and visionary professional passionate about food and beverage management. This role carries the responsibility of overseeing the entire Food and Beverage Department, ensuring the highest standards of quality, service, and merchandising are consistently achieved to maximize hotel profitability. The Director plays a crucial role in planning and directing all front-of-house operations, including restaurants, room service, banquets, and poolside dining. Collaboration with the sales team and executive chef is essential for developing seasonally appropriate menus and coordinating special events that delight guests while enhancing the resort's culinary reputation. This role requires strategic planning in budget management, cost control, and staffing to maintain efficient operations that meet financial objectives.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum three years leadership experience in food and beverage
  • food manager certification preferred
  • strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • knowledge of federal and state food safety and alcohol regulations
  • ability to lead and motivate a team
  • experience in budget management and cost control
  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • minimum three years leadership experience in a food and beverage role
  • food manager certification highly preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • knowledge of federal and state food safety alcohol compliance laws

Job Duties

  • oversee the direction and activities of the food and beverage department to maintain high standards of quality service and merchandising to maximize profitability
  • plan and direct functions of administration and planning of front of house food and beverage department
  • describe assign and delegate responsibility and authority for operation of front of house food and beverage sub-departments including room service restaurants banquets pool
  • oversee banquet operations and collaborate with sales team to develop banquet menus and coordinate special events
  • work with executive chef to develop and change food and beverage programming seasonally
  • develop implement and monitor schedules for all front of house food and beverage sub-departments to achieve profitability
  • implement effective control of food beverage and labor costs to crescent standards
  • interview hire train recommend performance evaluations resolve problems provide open communication and recommend discipline or termination when appropriate
  • ensure compliance with state federal and corporate requirements for alcoholic beverage service
  • assist managers in achieving profit objectives and quality standards for food service cleanliness merchandising and promotion
  • review evaluate guest satisfaction and recommend new operating and marketing policies as needed
  • develop operating tools such as budgeting forecasting purchase specifications recipes and production control
  • continuously evaluate performance and encourage associate improvement
  • plan administer training and development programs
  • communicate clearly in verbal and written forms to provide direction to staff
