The Director of Food & Beverage at Canopy by Hilton Boston Downtown holds a critical leadership role within the hotel’s Executive Leadership Team, collaborating closely with department heads such as the Executive Chef and Director of Sales and Marketing. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in hospitality management or related field
- Minimum of three years’ experience in food and beverage management or leadership
- ServSafe and TiPS certification
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage budgets and labor costs
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
- Ability to handle guest complaints professionally and timely
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance

Job Qualifications
- Bachelors or higher degree in Hospitality Management or closely related field
- Minimum three years of experience in food and beverage management or leadership
- Experience leading managers and developing team members
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Familiar with common computer software programs and POS systems
- ServSafe and TiPS certified
- First Aid and CPR certified
- Preferred experience with Hilton brand operations
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Additional language skills preferred
- Knowledge of Boston area to assist guests
Job Duties
- Partner with Human Resources to recruit, develop, manage, and monitor performance while making recommendations for disciplinary actions
- Arrange work schedules of line employees, determine days off, and ensure staffing levels are appropriate
- Monitor and develop team member performance including supervision, counseling, evaluations, and recognition
- Greet guests with a friendly and sincere welcome and respond to guest inquiries and requests
- Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals and promptly respond to guest complaints
- Devise and monitor an annual budget, achieve budgeted revenues, and control food, beverage and labor costs
- Manage labor control and operating expenses, develop relationships with key suppliers and industry associates
- Administer and ensure adherence to departmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Communicate daily with team members regarding activities and events
- Evaluate individual team performance and establish training needs
- Conduct departmental meetings to update staff
- Ensure end of night closing duties are completed including cash handling and securing the premises
