Job Description

BLU Hospitality Group is a premier hospitality company built on a People First mindset. With a core philosophy rooted in compassion, curiosity, and kindness, BLU aims to provide exceptional experiences not only to its guests but also to its team members. Known for integrating food, wine, art, design, and fashion, BLU Hospitality Group has quickly established itself as a leading lifestyle brand. The company places strong emphasis on nurturing the potential of its teams, partners, and the communities it serves. The flagship venue, Blu on the Hudson, opened in 2023 on the scenic Weehawken waterfront and offers breathtaking views of the New York City skyline and the Hudson River. This venue showcases contemporary American cuisine featuring seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques, with standout programs in steak, seafood, sushi, and house-made pasta. The beverage and wine program is world-class, offering curated cocktails and wine selections tailored to elevate every dining experience. Blu Livingston is the company’s second location, planned to open in the spring of 2026, designed to provide an intimate and elevated dining experience aimed at fostering meaningful connections. Following that, Blu Miami will debut in late 2026, featuring a multi-level restaurant with riverfront patio seating, a private mezzanine for events, and a rooftop bar with sweeping skyline views at the River Landing Shops & Residences along the Miami River. BLU Hospitality Group’s commitment to exemplary service has made it a hallmark of hospitality excellence across New York and New Jersey.

The Events Director role at BLU Hospitality Group is designed for an experienced professional who possesses a genuine passion for hospitality and event sales, coupled with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments. This leadership position is critical in driving all sales efforts related to private dining, special events, and premium experiences across the company’s restaurants and affiliated event spaces. The Events Director will play a pivotal role in growing revenue streams, cultivating high-value client relationships, and ensuring smooth collaboration between operations, culinary, and service teams to deliver bespoke events that meet BLU’s rigorous brand standards. Candidates should be dynamic, highly organized, and communicative, with confidence in operating within a fine-dining, luxury hospitality setting.

Ideal candidates have a strong background with 3 to 5 or more years of senior-level event sales experience in the hospitality sector, ideally within fine dining or upscale restaurants. A well-established network within the luxury events and corporate markets of New York City and New Jersey is essential, as is the ability to develop and execute comprehensive event sales strategies tailored to luxury private dining, buyouts, social events, and seasonal activations. The role requires proactive outreach and networking to identify and pursue new business opportunities among corporate accounts, luxury partners, event planners, and high-profile clients, with a focus on consistently driving revenue growth and client engagement.

The Events Director will manage the entire client journey from initial inquiry through to flawless event execution, including conducting site tours, consultations, presentations, and negotiations. Strong collaboration with internal teams is vital to design customized event proposals that meet the company’s brand standards and guest expectations. This position also demands expertise in overseeing banquet event orders, menus, floor plans, AV and production requirements, and staffing needs to guarantee successful event delivery. Preparing and monitoring sales forecasts, budgets, revenue reports, and key performance metrics is a significant responsibility. Compensation for this role ranges competitively based on experience from $70,000 to $120,000 annually.
