Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Villas, located in the scenic Texas Hill Country, is a premier destination renowned for its luxurious accommodations and exceptional event spaces. Recently enhanced by the addition of Rancher Hall, a stunning event venue overlooking a serene 2.2-acre lagoon, the resort is poised to lead as the top wedding and event location in the region. This offering complements a diverse selection of versatile indoor and outdoor event spaces suitable for a broad range of occasions, from intimate gatherings to large scale celebrations. The resort is currently undergoing a multi-phase renovation and repositioning project that includes refreshed guest rooms, upgraded event spaces, and the addition of five upscale villas designed to provide an elevated guest experience while maintaining the authentic charm that defines the property. This transformation positions the resort for continued growth and excellence in hospitality services.
The Director of Events plays a critical leadership role within Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Villas, reporting directly to the General Manager. This position carries overall responsibility for managing the standards of event sales and event planning, overseeing the performance and development of Event Managers and administrative staff. The Director of Events is tasked with achieving individual booking goals as well as the overall event goals of the property, ensuring harmonious alignment with the resort’s strategic objectives. A key focus of this role includes continual training and mentoring of the event team to uphold Hyatt’s renowned service standards.
Responsibilities extend to the preparation and presentation of effective proposals and presentations, maintaining detailed and organized documentation, and utilizing Hyatt technology systems to streamline event coordination and customer service integration with hotel operations. The Director often leads event meetings, sales meetings, and staff gatherings, fostering a collaborative environment among the catering, events, and support teams. This role demands proficiency across all facets of event management, encompassing sales, planning, marketing, and execution to deliver outstanding client experiences.
In addition to hands-on involvement in event planning and client management, the Director of Events is instrumental in the strategic development of the event department. This includes long-term planning and budget management, marketing strategy implementation, and monitoring sales performance with a goal to exceed budgeted sales and profits. Collaboration with the culinary team is vital, particularly in the creation of innovative menus that showcase the kitchen’s capabilities and align with pricing strategies. The position requires strong leadership skills to inspire and guide the event staff, encourage value-based customer relationships, and ensure the seamless delivery of event services on a daily basis.
Joining Hyatt at this exciting phase offers immense opportunities for professional growth within a globally recognized hospitality brand that values its people and promotes a culture where colleagues feel like family.
