The JW Marriott brand, part of Marriott International's luxury portfolio, features more than 100 prestigious properties in gateway cities and distinctive resort locations around the world. JW Marriott emphasizes putting associates first, fostering a workplace culture that values confidence, innovation, genuine care, and intuitive service. By joining the JW Marriott family, associates become part of a diverse and supportive global team that prioritizes training, development, recognition, and holistic well-being, offering a luxury environment to pursue one's passions. Marriott Hotels, an integral portion of Marriott International, aims to elevate hospitality by infusing thoughtful, heartfelt, and forward-thinking service into every guest interaction, maintaining the promise of "Wonderful Hospitality. Always." This ensures guests feel welcomed and valued throughout their stay.

The Event Manager role at JW Marriott is a pivotal leadership position responsible for managing daily event management operations across departments such as Event Planning, Banquets/Catering, Event Service, and Event Technology, including Destination Management if applicable. This position oversees the seamless execution of all property events with a focus on flawlessly transitioning responsibilities from sales to operations and back to sales, ensuring consistent delivery of superior service standards. The Event Manager plays a crucial role in maximizing revenue opportunities by up-selling and accurately forecasting catering and group room sales for events. Moreover, this position is accountable for achieving both guest and employee satisfaction while managing the financial performance of the event department.

With a salary range of $95,000 to $128,000 annually plus eligibility for an annual bonus, this full-time role offers comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance options, flexible spending accounts, accident insurance, adoption expense reimbursements, paid parental leave, educational assistance, a 401(k) plan with stock purchase opportunities, discounts across Marriott properties, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, and childcare discounts. Employees accrue paid time off continuously and receive a minimum of seven paid holidays annually.

The Event Manager leads event operations by supporting the overall event management strategy. This includes reviewing scheduled events with staff to prevent service challenges, maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of meeting spaces and equipment, overseeing catering menu development and food safety compliance, managing inventory to maximize customer satisfaction, and ensuring all departments are trained on safety and emergency procedures. This role requires consulting closely with customers to understand their objectives, especially high-profile and high-revenue groups, to deliver exceptional experiences. Leadership duties also encompass setting clear guidelines and expectations for employees, managing budgets effectively to maximize revenue, championing company standards and policies, and maintaining strong internal communication within the event team.

Customer satisfaction is paramount; the Event Manager engages directly with guests to gather feedback and resolve issues promptly, empowering employees to deliver excellent service at all touchpoints. Beyond operations, the role plays a strategic part in developing relationships with external vendors to enhance event offerings and expand additional revenue streams.

As part of Marriott's commitment to diversity and inclusion, the Event Manager position welcomes candidates from all backgrounds, ensuring a workplace that values unique talents and experiences while promoting equal opportunity for all. This role is a chance to join an esteemed hospitality brand where one can grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on guests, colleagues, and the company's success.
