  • 4 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree from accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major

Job Duties

  • Assigns all events turned over to event planning team
  • oversees function space and group room blocks for turned opportunities
  • communicates and executes safety and emergency procedures
  • leads event management strategy activities
  • reviews scheduled events to troubleshoot challenges
  • leads discussions to avoid service challenges
  • manages customer budgets to maximize revenue and meet needs
  • maintains inventories to maximize satisfaction and revenue
  • works with complex or high-profile groups
  • leads catering menu development
  • champions team policies and standards
  • leads event management meetings
  • reviews guest satisfaction data to identify improvements
  • shares plans for corrective actions with leadership
  • exemplifies excellent customer service and positive guest relations
  • interacts with guests for feedback
  • handles guest complaints and problems
  • empowers employees to provide excellent service
  • develops vendor relationships and service agreements
  • consults with customers on event objectives and requirements
  • establishes customer service guidelines
  • ensures ongoing employee training
  • observes service behaviors and provides feedback
  • reviews staffing levels to meet service and planning needs
