Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years event coordination experience in progressively responsible roles
- Previous higher education event/conference management experience preferred
- Knowledge of organizational culture in universities
- Understanding of principles of supervision and inventory management
- Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts
- Computer competency in scheduling, word processing, and spreadsheet software
- Ability to handle audio-visual equipment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate facilities and services
- Capacity to multitask and manage deadlines
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends
- Availability for year-round emergency on-call duties
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly developed organizational and leadership skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- In-person presence required at LMU Westchester campus
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of event coordination experience
- Experience in higher education event/conference management preferred
- Knowledge of university organizational and cultural environment
- Understanding of principles of organization, supervision, and inventory management
- Familiarity with diversity, equity and inclusion principles
- Competency in computer hardware and software applications including scheduling, word processing, and spreadsheets
- Experience with audio-visual equipment usage
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills with diverse groups
- Highly developed organizational and leadership skills
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, preferably in Microsoft Office suites
- Experience preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries
Job Duties
- Maintain oversight for event scheduling, front desk services, event operations, and conference services including planning, budgeting, and staff management
- Directly responsible for selection, training, evaluating, and motivating staff
- Develop approaches to enhance community access, promote services, and maintain community satisfaction
- Lead outreach and awareness efforts for the department
- Develop and implement long-range goals and strategic plans
- Maintain and foster relationships with campus constituencies and service departments
- Create and implement policies for efficient campus space usage
- Provide reports on projects and space usage statistics
- Conduct tours for potential clients
- Manage department budget and ensure revenue targets are met
- Analyze customer satisfaction data and develop improvement plans
- Represent LMU in professional organizations and on committees
- Assist in managing key university events
- Perform other duties as assigned
