Job Requirements
- Able to work effectively and safely in conditions with wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to maneuver in tightly quartered environments
- Willingness to work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, hotel or restaurant management or related field
- 5-7 years of catering sales experience
- 3-5 years in a director catering sales role in a high volume convention hotel or convention center
- Experience managing and booking catering events of 3,000 or more attendees
- P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience
- Strong knowledge of food and wine for menu development
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage financials, operations procedures, controls and administration
- Ability to perform all sales-related functions effectively
Job Duties
- Manage a team of catering sales managers and coordinators
- Create unique dining experiences by directing, selling, up-selling and planning catered functions
- Collaborate with banquets, culinary, beverage and operations staff to ensure smooth event execution
- Develop, implement and measure revenue objectives in the annual marketing plan
- Drive sales growth with existing business and develop new business strategies
- Provide hands-on management support during events, focusing on service and food and beverage operations
- Participate in organizational, HR and business strategy projects
