The Food Service Director role at LifeWorks Restaurant Group is a highly impactful position based within an executive setting where the standard is nothing less than luxury and hospitality excellence. This role involves leading the premier culinary program and overseeing all components of catering and hospitality operations in a high-profile corporate dining environment. The position requires dynamic leadership to coordinate catering operations from start to finish, managing everything from booking events to supervising staff, developing menus, pricing, hiring, and departmental administration. The successful candidate will lead the team in crafting and delivering customized catering solutions that meet or exceed client expectations while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance.

As Food Service Director, you will be instrumental in cultivating long-term client relationships by maintaining effective communication, ensuring high standards in service and presentation, and innovating to expand catering services that contribute to business growth and client retention. You will participate in sales negotiations, assist clients in special event planning, and ensure successful execution of events of varying sizes and scopes. Managing labor and food costs, overseeing accounting functions for catering revenue and expenses, and ensuring compliance with food safety and environmental policies are also critical facets of this role.

This position demands an individual who is not only experienced in managing catering and events but also passionate about pushing hospitality boundaries and delivering inspiring culinary experiences. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in food service or catering
  • Minimum 1-3 years in a management role
  • Experience with event and catering operations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability to work flexible event-based hours
  • Completion of Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and extended standing
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required

Job Duties

  • Coordinate total catering operations including booking events, supervising teams, developing, selecting, and costing menus, pricing, hiring, and departmental administration
  • Be responsible for all aspects of preparation, service, and cleanup for multiple catering operations
  • Develop and implement catering solutions to meet customers' needs
  • Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport
  • Develop and implement annual comprehensive marketing plan for catering including collateral, sales strategies, and marketing budgets
  • Establish and implement service and presentation standards for all catering operations and ensure compliance and consistency
  • Implement new services to support business growth and client retention
  • Stay ahead of and advise clients, customers, and staff on current catering trends and products
  • Facilitate delivery of prepared food built from banquet event orders
  • Participate in sales process and negotiations of contracts and assist clients in planning special events
  • Train and lead catering employees to ensure catering standards are followed
  • Set and deliver sales, food, and labor targets
  • Execute catering events of varied size and scope including staffing and management
  • Account for all catering-related revenue, expenses, and receivables accurately
  • Ensure compliance with all food, occupational and environmental safety policies
