The Food Service Director role at LifeWorks Restaurant Group is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all facets of a high-profile corporate dining and catering program. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in food service or hospitality industry
  • At least 1-3 years of management experience
  • Proven experience in events and catering
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability to work event-based hours
  • Completion of required food handlers and alcohol service certifications
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing
  • Willingness to wear uniform and use personal protective equipment when necessary

Job Duties

  • Coordinate total catering operations including event booking, team supervision, menu development and costing, pricing, hiring, and departmental administration
  • Oversee preparation, service, and cleanup for multiple catering operations
  • Develop and implement catering solutions tailored to customer needs
  • Maintain effective client and customer relationships
  • Create and execute annual comprehensive marketing plans for catering including collateral, sales strategies, and marketing budgets
  • Establish and enforce service and presentation standards to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Innovate and implement new services to support business growth and client retention
  • Advise clients and staff on current catering trends and products
  • Facilitate delivery of prepared food from banquet event orders
  • Participate in sales processes and contract negotiations for special events
  • Train and lead catering staff to uphold catering standards
  • Set and achieve sales, food quality, and labor targets
  • Manage execution of catering events of varying size and scope including staffing and management
  • Oversee accounting functions related to catering revenue, expenses, and receivables
  • Ensure compliance with food, occupational, and environmental safety policies
