The role of Director of Bars at The Post Oak Hotel is a senior leadership position essential to the hotel's vibrant food and beverage operations. This role is specifically responsible for the strategic oversight, operational management, and financial success of multiple bar outlets within the property, including H Bar, The Pool, and Craft F&B. The Director of Bars will spearhead innovation in the hotel’s beverage programming by developing engaging cocktail menus, wine lists, and non-alcoholic selections that resonate with current and emerging guest preferences. A critical aspect of this position is to maximize revenue opportunities through tailored promotions, inventive monthly activation programs, and holiday-themed beverage offerings that invigorate guest engagement and drive sales.

In addition to managing the day-to-day operations to ensure adherence to brand standards, health, and safety regulations, the Director of Bars will analyze sales data, inventory reports, and financial statements to inform decisions that enhance profitability and operational efficiency. This role demands a proactive approach to service recovery and revenue optimization, ensuring swift resolution of service gaps and maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction. Leadership and mentorship are also central to the position, as the Director of Bars oversees a team of three Bar Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional hospitality. The position requires compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulations concerning tip reporting and wage requirements. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of up to $105,000 annually and does not include tip earnings. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for prolonged periods. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • 7-10 years of progressive bar and beverage management experience
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage multiple team members effectively
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and revenue optimization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
  • Compliance with federal and state laws including FLSA tip regulations
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand for prolonged periods

  • Lead the development implementation and continuous evolution of innovative and profitable beverage programs including cocktail menus wine lists beer selections and non-alcoholic offerings
  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding revenue targets managing budgets and controlling costs labor inventory supplies
  • Implement promotional activities and events to drive sales and enhance guest engagement
  • Analyze sales data inventory reports and financial statements to identify trends opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Address guest feedback concerns and complaints promptly and effectively turning potential issues into opportunities for positive engagement
  • Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to the leadership teams and by ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards
  • Oversee the daily operations of all bar outlets ensuring consistent adherence to brand standards operational procedures and health and safety regulations
