The role of Director of Merchandising & Gifting at DraftKings is a pivotal leadership position residing within the Loyalty organization. This role requires a visionary leader to define, develop, and govern the strategy and execution of the merchandising and gifting ecosystem, including key platforms such as the DK Shop, Dynasty Rewards Store, and VIP Gifting programs. The Director will be responsible for driving revenue growth, maximizing operational efficiencies, and building scalable infrastructure necessary for future expansion across these channels. This position entails broad cross-functional collaboration and significant strategic oversight, combined with hands-on management that affects major facets of DraftKings' eCommerce and loyalty operations.
As the Director of Merchandising & Gifting, your responsibilities will span curating the entire eCommerce merchandising agenda, encompassing pricing, promotions, and conversion rate optimization for the DK Shop. You will own the P&L for both the DK Shop and gifting divisions, focusing on sustained revenue growth and cost structure improvement while ensuring excellent business performance. A vital part of your work will be to identify and implement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, such as vendor consolidation and process enhancement strategies.
Your leadership will also extend to inventory management, demand forecasting, fulfillment, and logistics, ensuring that the entire supply chain operates smoothly and cost-effectively. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years experience in eCommerce retail merchandising or DTC businesses
- At least 4 years of leadership experience in managing revenue-driving businesses or channels
- Proven track record of P&L management and cost optimization
- Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation
- Operational expertise in inventory management fulfillment and logistics
- Ability to leverage data and analytics for strategic decision-making
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a fast-paced and complex environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 8 years of experience across eCommerce retail merchandising or DTC businesses with exposure to gifting hospitality or VIP programs as a plus
- At least 4 years of leadership experience with demonstrated success owning or influencing a revenue-driving business or channel
- Strong eCommerce expertise with a deep understanding of conversion AOV and digital merchandising
- Proven experience managing P&L and driving cost optimization margin improvement and operational efficiency
- Demonstrated success managing vendors negotiating contracts and optimizing partner ecosystems
- Strong operational expertise across inventory management fulfillment and logistics with the ability to build scalable processes
- Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to inform strategy and measure performance and guide decision-making
- Exceptional attention to detail strong taste level and ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Define and execute the eCommerce strategy for DK Shop including merchandising pricing and promotional planning to improve conversion
- Own and scale DK Shop and gifting P&L driving revenue growth cost efficiency and overall business performance
- Identify prioritize and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and scale including vendor consolidation cost optimization and process improvements
- Oversee and optimize inventory management demand forecasting fulfillment and shipping operations
- Build and manage relationships with vendors brands and fulfillment partners negotiating contracts and improving cost structure
- Own the end-to-end operational lifecycle across merchandising and gifting ensuring scalable and efficient systems
- Define and track KPIs across merchandising and gifting leverage data to measure ROI improve performance and inform business decisions
- Partner cross-functionally to align on strategic priorities and lead a high-performing team driving accountability execution and continuous improvement
