Job Description
This organization specializes in import and export administration, essential for ensuring the smooth flow of goods across international borders. As a key player in the logistics and supply chain management sector, the company handles complex processes involved in shipping, customs documentation, and compliance with both domestic and international trade regulations. It operates in a fast-paced environment that demands precision and timeliness to avoid delays in delivery and ensure customer satisfaction. The company places a strong emphasis on regulatory adherence, accuracy in documentation, and efficient coordination among various stakeholders including customers, customs authorities, and shipping agents.
The role offered is for a Team Leader in Import and Export Administration, classified at a professional level (M2), with responsibilities encompassing supervising both professional-level and para-professional employees. This important position requires overseeing import and export operations from start to finish, ensuring that all processes are completed efficiently and within set timelines. The Team Leader manages the import process including customs documentation, shipping, and receiving of foreign merchandise, making sure that goods arrive on time. They also oversee the issuance of import licenses and manage monetary transactions related to imports, which requires attention to detail and timely action to avoid disruptions.
On the export side, the Team Leader controls documentation to facilitate smooth delivery to customers without delay. They monitor the preparation and dispatch of export orders and plan the transportation flow by air or surface to the final destination. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of international shipping logistics, trade laws, and customs regulations to ensure full compliance. Supervisory duties include setting goals and objectives for the team to achieve operational success, enforcing company policies and practices, and resolving problems that, while challenging, are typically not complex. This role is pivotal for maintaining efficient import-export operations and requires a leader who can coordinate efforts across different functions, manage workflow effectively, and uphold high standards of regulatory compliance and customer service.
