Job Description

Encore is a reputable company specializing in providing high-quality event technology services, primarily operating in hotel and convention center environments. Known for its commitment to using innovative audiovisual equipment and delivering world-class customer service, Encore has established itself as a leader in the event technology sector. Its services cater to a wide range of events, including conferences, corporate meetings, and various large-scale productions, ensuring seamless technical support and enhancing the overall event experience. Encore’s team is characterized by expertise in audio-visual technology, a focus on client-centric solutions, and a culture that promotes continuous improvement, accountability, and inclusivity.

The role of Director, Event Technology (OEM) at Encore holds significant responsibility for managing specific location assignments, with venue revenue ranging from $450,000 to $900,000. This position involves leadership of less than two full-time team members and directly reports to higher-level venue management, such as an Area Director or Regional Vice President. The Director is entrusted with the critical task of achieving revenue and profitability targets while ensuring the delivery of exceptional service that aligns with Encore’s brand standards. This leadership role demands not only operational expertise but also the ability to cultivate and maintain robust relationships with venue personnel and clients, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Key responsibilities for the Director include overseeing all facets of venue partner relationships, financial and operational management, technical problem-solving, sales management, customer service excellence, and people development. The Director is expected to develop strategic plans to maximize revenue, manage labor and equipment costs efficiently, and provide insightful reports to senior management. The incumbent must be proficient in utilizing company systems for billing, forecasting, and customer relationship management, ensuring that all business processes comply with company standards and client expectations.

Operational management includes directing daily floor operations such as scheduling, equipment setup, and client event execution. The Director must anticipate technical challenges and ensure the maintenance of proper inventory levels, safety, and quality assurance. Sales strategies are an essential component of the role, requiring the Director to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, prepare compelling proposals, and deliver presentations that highlight Encore’s value proposition.

Additionally, this position demands strong leadership and people development skills. The Director is responsible for managing performance, addressing employee concerns, facilitating professional growth through coaching and training, and promoting an inclusive culture aligned with Encore’s core values. Exceptional interpersonal skills are vital to exceed internal and external customer expectations, reliably portray a polished professional image, and lead a team that exemplifies Encore’s commitment to quality and service excellence.

Working conditions involve a dynamic hotel or convention center atmosphere with exposure to varying noise levels and outdoor elements like dust and sand. The role may require operation at multiple locations, including irregular hours and on-call duties covering evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands range from sitting and standing for extended periods to lifting and carrying heavy equipment, requiring stamina and adherence to safety standards.

This salaried position offers an hourly pay range between $66,571.70 and $86,559.20, reflecting the candidate’s experience, skill set, and location. Encore emphasizes a benefits package designed to support employees and their families, alongside a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Director, Event Technology, will play a crucial role in maintaining Encore’s reputation as a world-class provider of event technology services while advancing the company’s mission to deliver exceptional event experiences through innovative solutions and dedicated teamwork.
