Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years experience in airline catering and commissary
- Ability to take initiative and persist with task completion

Job Qualifications

- Proven leadership skills with ability to lead a catering operation
- Experience in budgeting process and managing operating plans
- Knowledge of aircraft galley equipment development such as carts standard units drawers and service equipment
- Successful track record leading an airline catering department for on time performance
- Ability to identify problems and sources and take initiative
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable engaging in various communication modes including verbal non-verbal and written
- Strong command of English including grammar style and punctuation
- Ability to actively listen and process information from diverse sources
- Interest and ability in serving others as a primary job function
- Ability to work with computers including technical subject-matter communication related to aviation
Job Duties
- Be on call 24 hours 7 days a week to respond to crisis situations and provide guidance on delays flight cancellations and irregularities
- Work closely with internal IT department to ensure automated processes for passenger and cargo aircraft catering
- Manage and analyze internal reports including FCR Pursers and PSR reports for trends
- Manage and confirm vendor compliance with company guidelines
- Ensure all staff are briefed and up to date on operational and menu changes affecting catering
- Meet with catering vendors to ensure acceptable service levels and address negative service trends
- Develop and implement a safety audit program for catering facilities and operations
- Plan implement and control budget for the catering department and initiate corrective actions for deviations
- Serve as subject matter expert for maintenance safety inflight service and procurement improvements
- Participate with vendors and corporate resources to implement lean processes and objectives
- Set and publish system-wide standards and business processes for catering operations
- Evaluate and implement process improvement and automation opportunities
- Provide direction on strategic ordering of galley equipment and maintain budget
- Lead aircraft stowage and galley designs including equipment like ovens coffee makers carts and standard units
- Implement specification and product changes
- Manage resource allocation and manpower planning aligned with operational needs
- Drive solution-based recommendations to ensure integrity and success of catering operations
- Lead the department to achieve budget targets and initiate corrective actions
- Ensure work methods adhere to company standards and customer contracts
- Assist on special projects as directed
- Perform other duties as needed to achieve operational goals and objectives
