Job Description

Marriott International is the world’s largest hotel company, renowned globally for its extensive portfolio of more brands, more hotels, and unparalleled opportunities for career growth and development. With a commitment to creating environments where associates can thrive, Marriott fosters an inclusive workplace culture that values the unique backgrounds, cultures, talents, and experiences of its team members. At its headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, Marriott International continues to champion innovation in hospitality, sustainability, and an exceptional customer experience that spans the globe.

The Director of Audience Activation and Platform will play a pivotal role within Marriott’s Data Activation and Audience Strategy team, responsible for spearheading omni-channel and data-driven experience activations. This full-time, management-level position is based at Marriott International HQ and offers an attractive salary range from $126,900 to $190,900 annually. Eligible candidates will also have access to a bonus and stock package, reflecting Marriott’s commitment to rewarding talent and performance.

This leadership role involves enabling a customer-focused audience strategy that drives orchestrated experiences across multiple marketing and service touchpoints. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Data Activation and Audience Strategy, the Director will work closely with key stakeholders across headquarters and continental teams to translate strategic goals into actionable audience segments. Collaboration is crucial as the role interfaces with data specialists, digital teams, and global technology departments to provision essential customer attributes and signals. The Director will oversee and maintain the platform responsible for creating and distributing enterprise-wide audiences, ensuring a unified strategy that maximizes customer value and organizational impact.

The ideal candidate will be a natural leader skilled in bridging strategy and execution within a complex, matrixed environment. They will have extensive experience managing Customer Data Platforms (CDP), preferably with Real-Time CDP solutions and Adobe Experience Platform, and a strong background in audience management, data operations, and CRM functions within large consumer-driven organizations. Success in this role demands a strategic thinker with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams — including IT, marketing, and global business units — to achieve business priorities related to customer engagement and data governance.

Key responsibilities will include serving as the primary business owner for platforms that support audience activation such as Customer Data Platform, Audience Manager, Liveramp, and Google Analytics. The Director will manage and prioritize platform backlogs, drive enhancements in data features, and define governance models that promote democratization, scalability, and experimentation. They will stay informed on emerging trends, collaborate with various teams to integrate and streamline data sources and systems, and participate in vendor advisory councils to shape future product developments.

In addition, the Director will lead personalization activation efforts by aligning with enterprise architects and business stakeholders to support CDP use case activations. This includes supporting the global Audience Center of Excellence in implementing standardized enterprise audience strategies and translating data demands into actionable tasks for the data and technology teams. A priority for this role is to work alongside Privacy, Marketing Orchestration, and Personalization teams to develop best practices for audience-driven consent management, transparent communication, data security, and ethical use of data.

Marriott International offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the well-being and growth of its employees. The company remains devoted to fostering an equitable and inclusive workplace where talent across all backgrounds can excel. Marriott HQ embraces a hybrid work model, supporting collaboration and connectivity while extending remote work options for candidates outside commuting distance. Overall, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced data activation leader to contribute at a strategic level within a globally recognized hospitality powerhouse, driving innovation and customer-centric strategies that shape the future of Marriott’s marketing and service experiences.
