Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the applicable state
  • Must be proficient in Windows, company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Must maintain warm and friendly demeanor
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests
  • Must be effective at listening to and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Must attend all hotel required meetings and training
  • Must participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
  • Must maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling
  • Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Must comply with PAH Management’s standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Must identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
  • Must handle problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving them
  • Must understand and evaluate complex information and data from various sources
  • Must maintain confidentiality of information
  • Must travel locally only
  • Must lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state

Job Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of hotel sales experience
  • Previous Director of Sales or Sales Manager experience
  • Supervisory experience

Job Duties

  • Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts to maximize room revenue to meet/exceed goals
  • Conduct professional, thorough site inspections of the hotel with clients
  • Develop strategies to increase share from competitors when hotel revenue penetration goals are not being met
  • Notify and coordinate customer specifications with other departments and respond quickly and efficiently to customer issues
  • Develop a marketing strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market trends and creating selling strategies to capture maximum revenue
  • Develop and enhance relationships with key corporate, business and industry accounts
  • Maintain accurate records and files using required CRM software
  • Participate in trade shows and professional organizations to maintain high visibility
  • Prepare and complete accurate end-of-month and annual reporting
  • Abide by Prime Selling Time and complete required weekly sales activities
  • Understand all GDS systems
  • React to negative market trends with blitzes or promotions
  • Research and complete the annual brand pricing RFPs by the required date
