Located in the heart of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Cornerstone University integrates a biblical worldview into all aspects of life and learning. The university’s mission revolves around disciple-making, fostering a gospel-centered lifestyle, and developing servant leaders well equipped to impact the world through their faith and knowledge.

The Food Service Department, housed in the Corum Student Union, plays an essential role in supporting the university community by providing nutritious and quality meals that adhere to high standards of safety and excellence. The department emphasizes Christlike service, teamwork, and maintaining a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. It upholds Cornerstone's core commitments including the Christian worldview, academic vision, beautiful Christian community, and adherence to a biblical understanding of marriage and human sexuality.

The position of Dinner Cook & Closing Supervisor is a full-time, hourly role responsible for preparing quality meals in the evening and overseeing the closing operations both Front of House and in the kitchen. Reporting directly to the Chef, this role requires someone who is not only skilled in food preparation and safety but also demonstrates leadership by training and supervising student kitchen employees. The supervisor will enforce cleanliness standards, ensure proper shutdown of kitchen equipment, and verify allergen information is accurately displayed and adhered to. The role demands flexibility with work hours, including weekends, and capacity for multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and responsibility.

Candidates should embody the university’s Christ-centered mission, serving as mentors and Christian leaders who live out biblical principles professionally and personally. The position involves interaction with students across various activities, making the ability to foster positive relationships and a gospel-centered atmosphere critical. Cornerstone University expects candidates to have an active Christian commitment, agreement with its doctrinal statement known as the Cornerstone Confession, and alignment with core commitments that shape the university culture and operations.
