Job Description

Tri-County Office on Aging (TCOA) is a reputable non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults in Michigan. Serving areas including Stockbridge, Lansing, and surrounding communities, TCOA provides a comprehensive array of services focused on promoting independence, health, and well-being among the elderly population. Their commitment to delivering high-quality nutrition programs, care management, wellness activities, and support services distinguishes them as a vital resource within the region. As a community-focused organization, TCOA emphasizes a collaborative approach involving staff, volunteers, and partners to meet the evolving needs of the aging population with respect and compassion.

The role of Dining Site Coordinator is based at TCOA's facility located at 219 W Elm St, Stockbridge, MI, and operates on a Monday through Friday schedule from 10am to 2pm. This position offers an hourly compensation of $15.11 and reports directly to the Community Nutrition Manager. The Dining Site Coordinator is integral to the success of TCOA’s nutrition program, specifically coordinating meal services for community members at offsite locations. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure meal preparation, service, and cleanliness standards are upheld while fostering positive relationships with program participants.

In this capacity, the coordinator collaborates closely with the Central Kitchen to facilitate timely and efficient delivery of meals to the designated dining site. Responsibilities include setting up food stations, maintaining proper food temperatures, overseeing portion control, and adhering to food safety protocols. The coordinator also supervises volunteers, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for participants.

Additional duties encompass maintaining accurate records, submitting monthly reports, and upholding cleanliness standards throughout the meal service. The coordinator must also be prepared to deliver Meals on Wheels when required, representing the organization professionally in all interactions. This role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a dedication to the mission of serving the community’s nutritional needs.

Beyond the immediate tasks, the Dining Site Coordinator contributes significantly to the overall well-being of senior participants by providing a safe, friendly, and efficient meal service experience. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of older adults, supporting their health and social engagement through nutrition. Candidates who join TCOA will find a supportive work environment that values commitment, teamwork, and continuous learning. This role is vital to sustaining TCOA’s mission to improve the lives of aging individuals across Michigan through compassionate service and community collaboration.
