The Dining Services Director at Aramark plays a pivotal managerial role responsible for overseeing dining facilities. This role involves creating and implementing diverse dining options tailored to meet customer preferences and requirements. The director is in charge of supervising teams, managing financial plans, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards, and optimizing overall operational productivity. The Dining Services Director will guide and develop their teams by setting clear goals and providing recognition and support to inspire high performance. They are responsible for guaranteeing that all food services follow the established implementation plans and that operational tasks align with Aramark’s standards of Labor and Food Management under the Operational Excellence framework. Financial oversight includes managing expenses for food, beverages, and staffing, as well as ensuring accurate profit and loss statements. The director will also maintain compliance with governmental and organizational regulations related to health, safety, and labor laws.
An essential aspect of the position is the development and maintenance of protocols for food procurement, preparation, storage, and presentation, including menu creation. The director is accountable for conducting regular inventory checks, managing accounting functions related to operational elements, and ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are always upheld. They are also expected to foster collaborative partnerships across departments and client levels, sustaining positive customer interactions and exploring innovative sales strategies to boost customer engagement and revenue growth.
Additional responsibilities include overseeing front-of-house dining operations and implementing food service strategies aligned with client values and eco-friendly practices. Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of four years of relevant experience, including supervisory experience of 1-3 years, ideally within the culinary or food service industry. Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships are essential. Physical requirements include the capability to handle weights up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is also necessary to succeed in this leadership position within Aramark’s dynamic and mission-driven environment.
