The Huntington Club is currently seeking a dedicated Server to join their vibrant team. This role offers hourly compensation starting at $16.90 plus tips, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding quality service. The Server plays a crucial role in enhancing member and guest experiences within a fine dining and cocktail service context. Ideal candidates will thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrating excellent customer service skills while working collaboratively with bussers, cooks, and other staff members. The Server is responsible for delivering high-quality service autonomously while ensuring accuracy in handling cash and operating point-of-sale systems.

Beyond just serving meals, the Server contributes to setting up side stations, managing orders, providing knowledgeable recommendations about food and beverage options including wine, and ensuring the dining environment remains polished and welcoming. The position requires a positive attitude, ability to perform well under pressure, fine dining experience, wine knowledge, and familiarity with cocktail service. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Setup side station and perform assigned side prep work
  • provide immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating
  • distribute food and wine menus and answer questions
  • fill glasses with ice water if local water conservation laws permit and suggest menu items
  • take members’ and guests’ orders and suggestively sell food and beverage items if appropriate
  • place orders with kitchen and inform cooks about special cooking instructions
  • assemble food on tray and procure items from each station
  • serve meals placing dishes by courses in front of each person
  • check back to ensure member and guest satisfaction and replenish water and butter as necessary
  • remove soiled dishes
  • present dessert menu suggestions and serve dessert, coffee and after-dinner drinks
  • verify accuracy of prices, taxes, tips and other charges on checks
  • present the bill
  • handle all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures
  • keep tables, dining room and bus station areas clean
  • advise supervisor of any complaints
  • perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager
  • attend pre-meal meetings as requested by dining room captain or manager
  • turn in signed tip declaration form weekly
  • thank members and guests and invite them to return
  • consistently follow local and state laws and club policies for alcoholic beverage service
  • perform other duties assigned by dining room or food and beverage manager
