The Server position at Cogir Senior Living plays a crucial role in the community’s restaurant setting, primarily focused on enhancing the dining experiences of senior residents. This role requires delivering friendly, professional, and efficient service during meals and special events, ensuring that residents' dietary preferences and requirements are carefully met. The Server acts as a warm, welcoming presence in the dining environment, helping to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that supports both the nourishment and well-being of residents. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are vital in this position as it involves close collaboration with kitchen staff and the Culinary Director to address resident feedback and maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation. Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • A Food Handler Card is a plus
  • At least 6-12 months of experience in serving, hospitality, or customer service is preferred
  • Previous experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality settings is highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Commitment to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • A Food Handler Card with an understanding of kitchen sanitation and food codes is a plus
  • At least 6-12 months of experience in a serving, hospitality, or customer service role is a plus
  • Previous experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality settings is highly desirable

  • Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet residents and guests warmly, creating a positive dining atmosphere
  • Take meal orders accurately and deliver food and beverages promptly
  • Ensure meals are served according to residents’ dietary requirements and preferences, including portion sizes and special requests
  • Ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all residents, serving food and beverages with a smile
  • Prepare the dining room before each meal by setting tables with linens, utensils, and glassware
  • Clear tables promptly after meals, ensuring cleanliness and organization
  • Reset tables for the next meal service
  • Communicate resident feedback and requests to the Culinary Director or kitchen staff
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of food and beverages
  • Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and Cogir senior living standards
